Ovo Energy and Scottish Power take on customers of failed suppliers

Extra Energy and Spark Energy were two energy suppliers that ceased trading in the last few weeks. Customers of both of these suppliers are safe in that their energy supply will continue.

Ofgem has appointed Scottish Power to take on Extra Energy's 108,000 domestic customers as of 25th November 2018. If you're an Extra Energy customer, you WON'T lose your gas or electricity supply and any credit you have will be protected. Scottish Power should be in touch in the coming days to let you know what happens next. It will also update you again when the transfer is complete and your account has been fully set up.

Ofgem appointed Ovo Energy to take on Spark Energy's 290,000 domestic energy customers. Furthermore, Ovo Energy is taking over the Spark Energy brand and operating company, so customers will continue to be billed by the brandname Spark Energy. If you're a Spark Energy customer, you will be contacted over the coming days about the change. There'll be no interruption to your energy supply - and you'll also stay on the same tariff that you're on now.
